Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted butter
2 cups granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 large eggs
1 cup all-purpose flour
½ cup cocoa powder
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup chopped chocolate or chocolate chips
Any chopped nuts
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking pan and set aside.
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter in the microwave or on the stovetop. Allow it to cool slightly.
In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Mix well until fully combined.
Add the vanilla extract and eggs to the mixture. Beat until the eggs are well incorporated.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can result in a tougher texture.
Fold in the chopped chocolate or chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out with a few moist crumbs. Avoid overbaking to maintain a fudgy texture.
Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Glaze with melted chocolate syrup
Add chopped nuts
Once cooled, cut into squares and serve. Enjoy!
Optional: You can add chopped nuts or swirl in some caramel or Nutella before baking to add extra flavour and texture to your brownies.
